About Dr. Ade

TRAINING

  • GMC - 6054555
  • Graduated from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Hospitals medical school in 2002 with an intercalated BSc in Molecular Medicine and Basic Medical Sciences.
  • Completed basic surgical training in the East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust gaining membership to the Royal College of Surgeons England in 2006.
  • Clinical research fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics at University College Hospital, London followed by Specialty Training (Registrar) posts in Trauma and Orthopaedics in London and Oxford teaching hospitals.
  • Having developed an interest in the non-operative management of musculoskeletal conditions, in particular, sports injuries  I changed training programmes and enrolled in the newly formed speciality of Sports and Exercise Medicine matriculating to the GMC Specialist Register in 2013.

I have become adept at the use of the ultrasound scanner. Now a routine part of my practice, when appropriate I use ultrasound to assist me in making a rapid diagnosis and, if indicated, guide therapeutic injections to their intended target with accuracy. I believe that the ultrasound scanner is to the musculoskeletal physician what the stethoscope is to the cardiologist.

I see all musculoskeletal injuries but have a particular interest in those acquired through collision/combat sports (rugby codes, martial arts), functional fitness (e.g. Crossfit), weight lifting and video gaming.

When not attending to patients I try to practice what I preach through taking regular exercise (mostly functional fitness) and attempt to keep up with my active wife and three children.
